OVERVIEW
This document outlines the functionality, setup, and user flow for the new Allocated Inventory Orders capability in the Nabis App. It allows brands to reserve inventory without committing to a delivery date, solving the common workaround of using "dummy" orders.
FEATURES
Brands can now create pre-allocated orders without specifying a delivery date. This reserves inventory immediately but requires brands to edit the order later to add a delivery date before it can be fulfilled.
This feature is available to Brand Admins + Users and is accessible only on Order Form V2.
Key benefits include:
- Elimination of dummy order workarounds
- Real-time inventory reservation
-
Flexibility to delay delivery scheduling
STEPS TO USE
-
Use Order Form V2
Navigate to the standard Order Form V2 (the legacy orderform is unsupported). -
Create Order Without Delivery Date
Toggle the “Order is a reservation” button below the date picker -
Acknowledge Warning Modal
Upon submission, a modal will appear explaining that this order will reserve inventory but won’t be packed until a delivery date is added.
EDITING THE ORDER TO FULFILL
Once a delivery date is known, Brand Admins can:
- Navigate to the Orders Page
- Locate the order (look for the "Reserved" badge)
- Edit the order and add a delivery date
- Once added, the order transitions to fulfillable status
Note: once the reservation has been converted to an order, it cannot be converted back to a reservation.
WHERE CAN I SEE ALLOCATED ORDERS?
-
Orders Page
Orders created without a delivery date will show a special badge or UI indicator to highlight their pre-allocated status. -
Future Enhancements (Coming Soon):
- Filter for “Pre-Allocated” orders
- Auto-expiration of stale pre-allocated orders
RETAILER IMPACT
There is no immediate retailer impact. Pre-allocated orders will not be sent for fulfillment until a delivery date is assigned. This gives brands flexibility in managing timelines.
CANCELATIONS
Users can cancel inventory reservations by clicking on the "More Actions" icon in the Orders tab.
COMMON USE CASE
"We want to lock in inventory before our final delivery date is confirmed."
- Use an Allocated Inventory Order
- Come back and edit the order when the delivery date is ready
- Fulfillment will proceed normally from there
