OVERVIEW
Below is a Q&A of the most frequently asked questions regarding the Nabis Retailer Groups tool.
Q. What are Retailer Groups?
Retailer Groups serve as the backbone for how our Brand Partners can retain fine-grained control over who exactly they’re selling to on the Nabis Marketplace. By creating retailer ‘groups’, you are able to control who is viewing your products, how much they can purchase, at what price and terms, sampling rules, promotions, and more. A walkthrough of this process is available at the end of this FAQ.
Q. How Do I Create a Retailer Group?
Hit the Marketplace Tab, located inside the Sales dropdown, then click “Add Group” under the “Retailer Groups” tab.
Select retailers to add to groups in order to create:
- Input minimum order, max sample, prior invoice completion rules if desired
- Select credit terms. You can also use Nabis presets (currently based on Nabis credit history with given retailer)
- Select Sales Rep if desired
- Hit Create button to save
Q. Do I have to make Retailer Groups?
No, when your page was activated, a default group called All Retailers was created for you. You can click ‘Edit’ for the default All Retailers group to configure your settings to all of our Nabis Retailers.
The only requirement would be to ensure the ‘Allow Retailer Purchases’ Toggle to Yes, or else no Retailers will have access to your products on the Marketplace.
Q. Do I need to enter Retailers manually to create Retailer Groups?
For some groups, yes, you may need to enter Retailers manually by typing Retailer Names and/or Location keywords. That said, we have preset categories for our ‘Nabis Trusted’, ‘Not Trusted’, and ‘Neutral’ credit ratings, ‘New Retailers’, ‘Repeat Customers’, and Territory Groupings for all of our California Delivery Zones, see map here.
Q. Can I have a single retailer in multiple retailer groups at the same time?
No. Single retailers can only be in one retailer group at a time, but you can take retailers out of one group and place them in another at any time. In terms of hierarchy, if a Retailer fits into overlapping retailer groups, they will be routed in the following hierarchy, from highest to lowest:
- Specific Retailers (Manual Selection)
- Sales History Groups (‘New Retailers’, ‘Repeat Customers’)
- Territory-Based Groups
- Nabis ‘Trusted’ Rating-Based Groups
- All Retailers (Default Group)
Q. If I make a sale to a ‘New Retailer’ that happens to be a part of a chain, do All of the other locations in that chain also become ‘Repeat Customers’ for the Retailer Groups?
No. Each retail location in a chain is treated separately with regards to Retailer Group logic, so after the first purchase, that specific location will be a 'Repeat Customer'. In contrast, other chain locations will remain as a 'New Retailer'. If you want the same handling for all their locations, we recommend creating a new "Retailer X" Retailer Group and placing all of their locations in it manually.
Q. Can I control the payment terms to specific retailers?
Yes, upon creation of your ‘Retailer Groups’ (see walkthrough below), you can choose whether the Retailer ‘Must Pay Their Prior Invoice Prior to Delivery’, as well as the Maximum Allowed Payment Terms – the ‘most lenient’ term you will allow this retailer to purchase.
Example: if you select a Maximum Allowed Payment Terms of Net 14, the Retailer will only have the option of selecting Net 14 or below (Net 7 and COD).
Finally, if you select ‘Payment Terms Based On Credit Rating’, this means you’ll be able to set specific payment terms for Retailers within each retailer group based on the Nabis Retailer Credit rating, which is a dynamic, daily calculation of our rating of each individual retailer based on their credit history and fine-grained metrics based on their prior orders with Nabis.
Q. How do I prevent a retailer or set of Retailers from viewing my products?
You can limit certain retailers from viewing and ordering from your menu by creating a ‘Retailer Group’ (Marketplace Tab -- Retailer Groups -- Add Group Button), select all the retailers you’d like to disclude and toggle the ‘Allow Retailer Purchases’ to No, and click ‘Update’. This can be updated at any time.
Q. Can I assign Brand Reps to Marketplace Retailer Groups?
Brand Admins can edit/add Retailer Groups by automatically tagging Sales Reps to be auto-populated as the 'Sold By' assignee for all Marketplace Orders from that Retailer Group.
Q. How can I find which Retailers are currently on the Marketplace?
Brands can now download our Retailer Address Book in CSV form, which includes a column of whether a retailer has signed up for the Nabis Tracker/Marketplace!
To Download, please go to the Address Book Tab -- Download Address Book Button
