OVERVIEW
To standardize how brands configure bulk discount tiers for products sold in casepacks on the Nabis Marketplace and the Nabis Orderform, ensuring a clear understanding of pricing and eligibility while accounting for display samples pulled from casepacks.
DEFINITIONS
- Casepack: The minimum saleable package configured by the brand (e.g., 2-pack, 30-pack).
- Unit: The smallest divisible product item within a casepack. Bulk discounts are applied per unit.
- Display Sample: A single-unit sample that retailers can purchase. These units are pulled from existing casepacks but do not count toward bulk discount thresholds.
- Bulk Tier: A volume-based pricing rule applied when a retailer orders a specified minimum number of units.
BRAND-SIDE CONFIGURATION
Unit Pricing
Brands must set the base price per individual unit.
Volume-Based Discounts
Brands configure thresholds in units, not packs.
Each discount rule must specify:
Quantity threshold (e.g., 30 units, 60 units, etc.)
Discounted price per unit.Rules are applied progressively (e.g., price drops once threshold is reached).
Validation
- Discount tiers cannot be set with thresholds of 0.
- Minimum threshold must be equal to or greater than the number of units in one casepack.
RETAILER EXPERIENCE (Marketplace & Order Form)
Default Display
- Retailers see:
- Base unit price.
- Bulk pricing banner showing available discount range.
- Threshold message (e.g., "X units for $Y/unit").
Cart Behavior
- Display samples purchased do not apply toward thresholds.
- Example:
- Casepack size = 30 units.
- Retailer buys 29 units + 1 display sample → Threshold not met.
- Retailer must purchase 30 saleable units + 1 display sample (total 31 physical units shipped) to qualify.
THRESHOLD ENFORCEMENT
- Bulk pricing applied only when non-sample units meet/exceed threshold.
- Display sample allocation does not reduce pack price or qualify as part of a bulk tier.
ORDER FORM PARITY
- The same bulk pricing rules and sample exclusions that apply on the Marketplace also apply to the Nabis Orderform.
- Brands and retailers can expect identical behavior across both platforms.
